Your third standalone book in the Seasons of Love series comes out this month! How has your writing evolved since your first book?
Well, I learned how to write better of course. I also learned how to bring forth certain emotions, I leaned more into adding culture into my writing. I feel like I give my characters a stronger voice now, make the readers aware of who my characters are, what they do and what they want. I craft the plots much better now and always add the little sweet moments in romance books that make us melt. I’d also say that I have way less drafts than the first book (It happened one Fall) That is certainly a tell for me that I’ve gotten better and more confident.
What is something unique about your books?
I’d say the way I wrote the friendship for the entire group. I had taken my time to create them and make them fit together for the story's purpose. It’s something I’m certainly proud of. That and the way I tried to introduce and represent different cultures respectfully. As POC woman myself, I feel like I have very little (positive) representation so I hope to write more books with POC.

What do you hope readers will take away from your books?
I hope my readers leave my books with a huge smile and a full heart. It’s my intention to write wholesome and spicy books where I show how much the main characters love each other, and what ends they’d go just for each other. But my books are also about more than romance, there’s friendship too. I hope that in my book they find representation of positive and uplifting friendships. All this I hope brings them some warmth and comfort.
How has writing changed you?
I have to admit, I’m a little more observant. It’s also because I pick up many things from real life, twist it around and give it a character. It can be something small, like a person being obsessed with everything strawberry. I might twist it around for a side-character, make them obsessed with blueberries instead. Just the little things like that. But it also helped me to be a little more understanding. I’ve written complex characters now (not published yet) I began to understand that people won’t always make the decision you want them to and often enough there’s enough reason behind that.
What has been the best marketing strategy for your books?
Honestly, giving out arcs and posting reels. Arcs truly helps to get other reader interested as well, since most leave reviews and as a reader myself I always check out reviews before picking up a book.

Which couple that you've written is your favorite? Why?
Oh my god! I can't talk about this couple because it's a secret project... But I can pick a second favorite, I'd have to say Darshini and Dante. They have such a gentle relationship, build on friendship first (most of my couples do, but theirs is a little different) They compliment each other beautifully, he learns about her culture and tries to adapt. She tries to match his love language. They were honest and left no room for any confusion. I felt like when I crafted these characters I truly created soulmates who HAVE to be together and bring out the best from each other. Part of me thinks it’s also because I was three books in when it came to them, I had more experience in crafting characters.
Why are romance books important?
Romance books matter because they remind us of the beauty in connection, care, and trust. The stories I write are always positive, consensual, and sweet. ANd I make sure to have lots of green flags, mutual respect, and characters who are truly hopelessly in love with each other. While I keep things light-hearted, I also show some hardships they may face together. For me, romance is both raw and emotional, it can hurt deeply, but it can also be the most beautiful thing a person can experience. That’s why I write about love that’s built on kindness, understanding, and people doing the absolute most for the ones they love.
Do you do anything to celebrate a book's release?
No, but I truly should. Moving forward I might just celebrate it with a little treat.
