Tell me a little bit about your book:
It’s about a medium and a ghostbuster who team up to reunite lost loves and prove HEA can come even after death.
What three words would you use to describe The Inn Between?
Haunting, healing, soul-deep
The Inn Between releases on June 12th. Do you have anything special planned for release day?
A massage and a movie to keep me from obsessively checking my dashboards 😅
Why was it important for you to include mental health representation in your novel?
I tend to write characters who carry emotional scars that echo parts of my own life. In The Inn Between, the main character grapples with being the daughter of someone with mental illness. She’s haunted by the guilt and grief of having been angry at someone who couldn’t help being unwell. When her parent starts doing better, she struggles with resentment and wondering why things couldn’t have been different when she needed them to be. That emotional conflict is deeply personal to me, and was really cathartic to write.

What was the inspiration behind this medium x ghostbuster novel?
The song Move by Hozier. This idea that one life is just not enough for a great love really speaks to me. I don’t know what comes next after this life but I like to think I’d find my husband again on any plane of existence.
How was your experience sending out ARCs (Advance Reader Copies) to readers? Would you do it again for book two?
Amazing! My ARC team is made up of so many kind and loving souls that I feel so grateful to have connected with! I consider many of them friends and am so happy to have connected with them.
How did it feel when your local bookstore ordered copies of your novel?
So totally surreal! @oldfirehousebooks is such a champion for authors and does so much to keep the joy of books alive in my community and it's such an honor to have my books stocked there.
What are the best and worst parts of being an indie author?
Best part: Without a doubt, the best part is getting to collaborate with so many incredible people. From my critique partners and beta readers to the amazing ARC community, I'm constantly inspired by the support and insight they offer. I’ve also had the joy of working with brilliant creatives like my cover designer, @AndyPaynedesigns, whose talent brings my stories to life. Being indie means building a team that feels more like a village—and I’m lucky to be surrounded by such a passionate one.
Worst part: The hardest part is not always having the budget to bring every big dream to life. In a perfect world, I’d be out there hosting retreats, touring to meet readers, and creating magical in-person experiences that celebrate community.
What advice would you give other authors?
Be a village member. One of the most rewarding parts of this journey is the community so lean into it. Give as much as you take. Celebrate other authors, cheer loudly for their wins, and be generous with your support. The connections you form by showing up with joy will carry you through the highs and lows and make the whole ride a lot more fun.
Are there any specific goals we can help you reach for the release of The Inn Between?
Libraries! I was such a library kid (and am now a library adult) and it would be such a dream come true to have my book in libraries
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The Inn Between is a romance, but at its heart, it's the story of a woman who was taught to hide the most magical parts of herself. For her, it's the ability to see and speak with ghosts—but for so many in our community, it's their identity, their desires, their voice, or their truth. This book is about reclaiming those hidden parts, about finding a love that doesn't just accept but celebrates the very things she's been told to keep quiet. It's tender, a little spooky, and ultimately a story about becoming whole on your own terms. I hope it speaks to readers the way it does to me.
